Our First Kid Review!

Warriors by Erin Hunter

There's three series of Warriors and extra books. The first series is about a house cat that runs away to join a cat clan and later becomes leader. The second series is about four cats that go on a long journey to save their clans. The third series is about three cats that hold the fate of their clans in their paws. I love cats and adventures, so why not read a book with the two combined?

Stolen by Vivian Vande Velde

Book review by Mrs. Szymczak

The villagers are on a witch hunt. The old witch of the woods is blamed for the disappearance of six-year-old Isabelle and her one-month-old baby sister. They burn down the witch’s house but find no trace of any humans in the ruins. Then a young girl turns up with no memory of herself. She does not even know her own name, or where she where she comes from, or where she is now. Then she is claimed as the long lost Isabelle by Mady, her “mother”. While her “mother” believes her to be her daughter, her older “sister” Honey does not. Find out who Isabelle really is, why Honey tries to harm her, and what the witch decides to do about both girls. Magic is a big part of the witch’s plan.

Dog Lost Review

Dog Lost by Ingrid Lee
Review by Mrs. Szymczak

I find that I tend to like cute, little, cuddly dogs rather than big, strong dogs. I have a distrust of them, especially pit bull terriers. But this story is about just such a dog, his boy, a bad home life, and a surprising series of events. Cash is given to eleven-year-old Mackenzie who loves and cares for him. Then one night, Cash crashes into Mackenzie’s Dad coming through the door. The pizza he’s carrying slips out of the box and splatters on the floor. His Dad is so angry that he throws Cash in the trunk of his car and drives off to dump the dog out on the streets. The rest of the story tells how Cash survives on his own and eventually becomes a hero. A pit bull hero? Read it and find out how this miracle happens.
You can find this book in the children's room.
